Christ Has Given Us The Marching Orders

One of Christ's last orders as before He asended into Heaven was for His followers to "Go into ALL the World and make disciples". (Matt. 29:19) One simple word, "GO" turned it from a request to a command. All of us who call ourselves "Christian" MUST heed this call to the best of our ability and GO. Hands In Motion was a summer vacation by one family that said we will heed that call and it just never ended. Sadly, the deaf community is one of the most under-evangelized groups in America, more than 90% of the deaf people do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.Many churches do the "stutter-step", with on and off interpreting provided and congregations that don't even know when deaf people come to their church. At the same time many of the deaf ministries we encounter have great hearts for the deaf, but are so focused on cultural sensitivity/awareness that they often miss the forest in spite of the tree. Most deaf we meet say Hands In Motion is really different, They say we are "New School", not into programs and selling us Christianity. Part of that comes from an underlying theme, we just don't know how to be politically correct. As our Director Jeff Hauser says "I love the deaf, I just don't love them more than anybody else"

We Are Out To Turn The World "Right-Side-Up"

WHO SAYS DEAF PEOPLE DON'T LIKE MUSIC?, Mostly hearing people.
Have you ever been to a Christian music festival? We have been to about 260 of them over the last 14 years. What a kick, it's like a concert, carnival, party and church all rolled into one! It's dusty, muddy, loud, sweaty, people watching, chit chatting - fun! Can you think of a less threatening enviroment to introduce someone to the King of Kings? We can't either, so that's where the focus of our ministry is. Over the years we have expanded to serve at youth conferences, youth camps and seminars, but the focus is all the same: Christ, music and arts. Lest you think we are just about "collecting souls" we are also into using these events and their artists and speakers to develop deaf disciples, so they can GO back into the deaf community and reach others for Jesus Christ.

We Are Not Alone!
Nine years as a federal non-profit (501c3) with a reach nationwide, we know it only works for three reasons: A great and glorious God, 120 volunteers spread across the country, often making themselves availible with very short notice, lastly people like you that lift us up in prayer and financial support.
